is there anyway i can zero out my current karma level instantly? i.e. i am currently yahee (demon killer) lv 5, can i go back to 0 without hunting undeads?

Unless you're a cougar mage, you probably should have done undead karma first. That said, you definitely want a lvl 8 ammy. Lvl 5 earring is probably fine.

Well he said he found the answer, which is that you have to get to lvl 8 to reset to opposite karma, OR you can hunt the opposite karma mobs, or use frags.

lol, my bad, so the answer is no, there is no way to instant zero out my current karma.

that being said, i will have to hunt the opposite karma mobs to get my yahee lv 5 back to 0, then go from there working on demon lvls.

It is time consuming (or expensive-ish) to go from 1,500,000 karma to 10,000,000 karma, but then you essentially get a gigantic karma refund at the end when you switch. Many consider it worthwhile, especially for the level 8 amulet.

Gilderoy what you are saying is if you get to lv8 earring karma, you can just switch to lv8 ammy in 1 click (refund)? Never heard it before.

I always assume you have to hurt the opposite karma to get back to 0 then keep hurting to the other side karma.

Took me a second to figure out exactly what you were asking, so I apologize for the rapid fire edits.

When I say "refund," what I mean is that you can (at level 8 karma) get back to 0 without hunting the 10,000,000 karma that would be required to do so otherwise, so you're effectively getting 10,000,000 free karma. The option is only available to you at level 8 karma, and you have to talk to that Trembling Person (or whatever he's called) NPC to do it. It might even net you a little karma on the opposite side (level 3, maybe? I forget, been a while.)

It will not switch you all the way to lvl 8 opposite karma. That would be amazing.

if you change karma at lv8, u go to -1.5m/1.5m karma other side.

I am still confused on the math here. 

-1.5m/1.5m karma = 1 karma.

Does it mean you can 1 click refurnd at lv5 karma from earring to 0lv karma (nature)

or you have to do it at lv8 karma?

If it is lv8 karma to nature. Then I think it is better to just hunt opposite karma from lv5 which is only 1.5m karma instead of 10m

You have to have level 8 karma to switch. If you get level 5, and you want to switch karma, yes it's better to just hunt the karma.

If you finish lv8 karma earring (10000000 karma) and then you switch, you will start at -1000000 karma after you switch....so basically you are almost getting a lv5 karma ammy for free.
