Hi Folks,

I've been knocking around on here for a few weeks now and I'm quite enjoying the server.  Compared to a few others I've played on recently this server runs really smoothly and I'm happy to see spells fixed and no wonky customization.

Played back in the day for about a few years on an NA non-PVP server (don't remember which one).  It's a bit of a challenge to adjust as back when I played there was a hard cap at 52 and several of the hunting areas and many items are new to me.  Back when I played pretty much the only Elf builds were DEX or CON/melee, so I'm struggling a bit on how to build my Elf with the added options/items/candling, ect.  I've run into some really helpful folks so far, and look forward to meeting more!

I was in the same boat after not playing lineage for like 10+ years. Elf has always been my class of choice. I always played dex elf before, but I read a lot about INT leveling up faster by using fireball to hunt in groups. That's been my build here on this server. It's different, but I do think it's been a lot easier to level up quick.

Thanks for the reply!  I'm at L53, I think I read somewhere that you need 18 INT at character creation to get certain bonuses that you can't get later with stat reallocation.  I will try to dig up thread if that sounds off.

Biggest question I have right now is how to find the spy of dicarding for the level 50 elf quest.  I've tried going to Resistance Village and exploring from there but the y axis location is off by like 2000 anywhere I look around there.  Any thoughts?

Yes, you definitely need to start your elf at 18 INT to get the magic bonuses that will allow you to efficiently hunt with fireball. You also get major bonus to your heals, too. I know it's boring but the fastest way to level 58 is just hunting noob ToS with your bow. That part feels slow as an int elf, but if you get a Thebes Bow for the +2 int and proc you will level fast. Than, after 58, you will have enough INT to fireball packs of monsters in a few spots (Giran Prison 2f is best, but dangerous, Lastabad or Contaminated are good too)

I didn't do the level 50 elf quest on this server, because the reward is junk. But I remember the Spy of Dicarding is pretty easy to find... I wasn't able to find maps of Resistance Village but I know if you travel; SE, than NE, than SE.... you will find her. It's not too deep in the dungeon, definitely before you hit the big dark elf spawns / villages. She's just in a lonely cavern. Lol. That's probably not super helpful. I could show you sometime or maybe someone has a map. :)

What kind of gear makes fireball at level 58 viable?  Is high MPR needed or just good AC?

You should be fine to start hunting with fireball at 58. All you need is thebes and int ammy for the extra SP, really. Elder/Succubuss doll for extra regen. Additional gear that will REALLY help is AK set. (Robe of Dread Queen, Cloak of Arcane King, Dread Boots, and Assassin King Gloves). This set provides a lot of HP/MP regen and good AC which helps a ton. If you find yourself running out of MP, use a belt of mind or soul. I prefer ogre belt for the pots. You need to stay under weight for the regen.You should have level 3 karma earrings if you hunted noob ToS until 58.You can use your pets to help you until your more comfortable with the tactics. Keep adding INT as you level. Your fireball will continue to improve.

I keep fireball on the scroll wheel and lock my hotkeys. This makes it super easy to keep a distance and still throw fireballs. You can hold the scroll wheel down and you'll continually cast. Run a little, and cast again. Repeat. Try to aim your cursor in the middle of the pack. If you get stuck, try to keep your back to a wall so that you don't get surrounded. Sometimes I just lead the pack to the wall and than hold steady jamming clear pots and casting fireball. That gets easier to do as your AC and level improve. At the beginning, I reccomend keeping moving a bit.

AC vs MR is gonna depend where you decide to hunt. Giran prison 2f or 4f is gonna be the fastest exp, but it's boring and dangerous cause of pvp griefers. If you hunt carefully, you won't even get hit much by the packs of monsters you gather. Just keep a few cells distance and keep "kiting" with fireball. AC is definitely better for GP. You'll find certain spots have better spawn and you can almost create a loop that you continually follow to gather, fireball, gather, fireball. Rinse and repeat.

Other good spots for fireball is TOI 10f, TOI 24f (use frozen cloud instead of fireball), Contaminated Orc Land, or Lastabad 2f (Beast room...or mage room). Ivory Tower 8f is OK, too. Personally, I have trouble navigating Lastabad 1f/2f and so I don't have much experience hunting down there. I've heard it's really good exp though. I probably need someone to show me the ropes down there someday. Lol. I hunted GP 2f from 58+. It's super boring and when I need a break I go contaminated ~_~.

I'm confused about this level 50 elf quest as well. Haven't been able to locate the female spy yet. Actually, I'm also slightly confused whether to escort her back to Resistance Village or Recluse Village. The coordinates in Linweb don't seem to match either map.

Teleport to warp 6 and walk south to the bridge

Select hunting in another area

Choose mineral cave

Walk all the way East, do not step on the square, but step around it (you'll know you're in the correct area if you see muryan / bats / wolves etc)

Walk north east past a land bridge, from there, you're going to take the first right (south east) path. The spy will be in that area.

Talk to her, haste her, walk her back to about where you came, and then north west in to an open area.
